The American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) is the professional, scientific and credentialing association for audiologists, speech-language pathologist and speech, language and hearing scientists. This website offers useful information about communication disabilities by clicking on "The Public" tab. Searches for professionals in your area may be performed here.

The National Institute of Deafness and Other Communication Disorders website offers thorough information about a wide range of communication needs including hearing loss, auditory processing disorders, language, speech, autism, aphasia, voice disorders, balance, and much more. Information about research, obtaining funding as well as free publications are included.

Apraxia of Speech

The Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America’s website provides information about diagnosis, intervention and resources for parents and professionals working with children who have apraxia of speech. Research, advocacy and workshop/event listings are included.

Autism Spectrum Disorders

The Autism Society of America is an organization geared towards parents, professionals and individuals with Autism. The website offers information about research, advocacy and living with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Autism Speaks intends to inform the public about scientific developments, family services, government and legislative issues, fundraising and raising awareness about autism. It offers articles and a video glossary for the public to view in conjunction with the American Academy of Pediatrics.

The Dan Marino Foundation offers a wide range of online videos about Autism Spectrum Disorders and other neurological disorders. This website was created by parents of children who have Asperger Syndrome and High Functioning Autism. Online Asperger Syndrome Information & Support (O.A.S.I.S.) is intended to be an information source related to research, articles, advocacy and therapeutic resources.

Fluency (Stuttering)

The Stuttering Foundation’s website provides free online resources, services and support to those who stutter and their families. Seasonal newsletters, e-books and workshops are included.

Hearing Loss and (Central) Auditory Processing Disorders

The Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing helps families, health care providers and professionals by providing information about childhood hearing loss, diagnosis and intervention. AG Bell strives to ensure that every adult and child with hearing loss has the opportunity to listen, talk and thrive in the mainstream environment.

The Listening Room provides weekly resources for parents and professionals working with preschool and school-age children with hearing loss. Activities were developed by Dave Sindrey, Certified Auditory Verbal Therapist, in cojunction with Advanced Bionics, a cochlear implant manufacturer. This website was created by Dr. Diane German, a well-known expert in child word-finding difficulties. The website provides definitions, characteristics, assessment and intervention information relating to word retrieval difficulties as well as resources and information for professionals and parents.

Voice Disorders

The Voice Foundation was established in 1969 and focuses on research and distribution of professional and scientific information about voice disorders. By clicking on the "Voice Information" tab, one may access information about voice use and misuse.

The Watergate Voice Foundation produced this website to provide people with voice disorders information about anatomy/physiology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
